"Winter's Nuances" is a poem that I wrote initially for a portfolio for school. However, it was further developed. The initial assignment was to write an acrostic — but the word spelled must describe you in some way — as well as the poem itself. This is one of the two that I wrote. I hope you enjoy!
Open-minded, I notice everything
Belief quivers before mocha eyes, they
Seize upon silver, melting, icicles.
Energized, I watch the sun look over…
Realization hits as the cold gusts hit;
Venerated cause of the hard, chilling truth
Alive, I run further, and further,
Numb from the cold; my sharply burning skin
Thriving on the sun rising, grass shining
— sprinting, begging for its warmth.
